We haven’t been on many holidays as a family of three, in fact I think we’ve only been away on two proper summer holidays since having baby K, and while I sit here watching my husband attempt to go into the sea and my darling boy play with the sand I can’t help think of the new journey that awaits us in September and how life is about to change.
We decided on a last minute holiday to North Cyprus before the arrival of our little bean and before I get too big and restless to travel.
It is a bit strange going from 100 miles an hour to doing absolutely nothing for eleven days but it was defintely much needed. A lot has been going on in the Diapers at Dawn household since the beginning of the year, which is one of the main reasons why things on here have slowed down.
Along with finding out we are expecting baby no. 2, Mr H’s business has got really busy which means the amount of paperwork he has (which is my job) has slowly got more and more, pair this with my day job, morning sickness and looking after baby K we decided it was time we switch gears and come away on one last family holiday before things get even more hectic.
Our eleven day getaway isn’t one of those holidays where you do all touristy stuff and go ti the beach everyday, it’s to see family and literally relax and do nothing. The first few days were warm but not enough to be walking around in shorts, luckily it warmed up and we managed to get one day at the beach so baby K could have a run around and play and I can chill out and give my blog some much needed love!
Since we’ve arrived we’ve been bombarded with questions as to whether we’re scared of going back to square one with sleepless nights, how we plan to cope with a new born and a toddler, will I be returning to work and if this will be our last child – the answer is no we’re not scared and I have no clue. Maybe I’m being náive because baby K was so easy as a baby, he still is really, that I think little miss will be the same, but either way she’s coming and we’ll just have to deal with whatever she brings with her!
There are so many things that we could be worrying, but for now I’m going to sit back with the sun warming my skin, sand beneath my toes and enjoy spending some much needed quality time with my family on our last holiday as a family of three.
