It has been a while since I’ve put together a post about my life in general and I’m not quite sure if anybody has even noticed that posts have slowed down a bit since August, if you have I can say there has been a very good reason. As you know from some of my previouse pregnancy posts I was due to give birth on the 18th of September but it seems my little lady had other ideas and after having me run back and forth to the hospital three weeks before her due date with full blown labour pains then deciding it wasn’t time, then having me walk around contracting for a week she decided to finally make an appearance on September 4th at 1:44pm.
Life has been so hectic since the arrival of our little lady that I just don’t know where the time, days and months have gone. I knew going from a family of three to four is life changing but I forgot how much a newborn can impact your life and for someone who likes routine and sticking to it lets just say it can make you feel a little bit anxious.
I’m lucky that my little lady is actually an easy baby, she pretty much established her own routine, slept through the night at five weeks and isn’t really much of a whinger, but trying to juggle a newborns routine and a toddlers can be pretty damn difficult – in case you didn’t know. The new baby isn’t the only thing that has changed, when we realised I’d be on maternity leave in September we decided to take my little man out of private nursery, where he was going two mornings from 7am-1pm, and put him into a normal 15 hour a week nursery, lets just say I’m not liking this whole three hour a day thing. I mean how does anyone get anything done? I’m lucky if I finish one task before I have to feed the little madam and then before I know it it’s time to for the nursery run.
Unfortunatley whilst I’ve been trying to find my barings with a new baby, a toddler at a new school and doing the whole at home wife thing my blog has unfortunately been put on the back burner while I get a grip on my life, which I’m a little bit sad about as my blog is my escape and my little space on the internet which I can write about all the things that interest me and I hope, if anyone is actually reading, interests you too!
So anyway I’m hoping all that’s about to change, now that my little munchkin is two months old and a little bit more settled, the plan is to get back on track and hopefully get a few posts on here a bit more regularly.
Wish me luck and watch this space!
