It’s the 1st of January 2018 – Happy New Year people! December has been so hectic with Christmas, birthdays and two children that the month has flown by in a blur of morning nursery runs, wrapping paper, internet shopping and a lovely snow day. There was a couple of days between Christmas and New Year where I think the rushing around caught up with me and we spent two days lounging around at home before baby K started getting cabin fever and we ventured out, but all in all December has been a great month filled with great new memories ready for 2018!
☆ Finding my feet again☆
After having a crazy couple of months trying to adjust to being a mummy of two I feel like I can kind of say I’m getting into the swing of juggling two little ones. My little lady is now three and a half months old and sleeping through the night, which makes a big difference when trying to deal with a three year old who is still getting used to having a sister and has a tendency to sometimes play up!
Although I have to say as much as I’ve found my feet it’s definitely a whole different ball game going from one child to two, it makes me wonder if it’s true what they say – going from one to two is a shock but from two to three is easy!!
☆ Baby K settling in to his new role of “big brother”☆
Even though I tried to keep baby K as involved as possible whilst I was pregnant nothing can prepare a three year old for the changes the arrival of a new baby brings, my little man was no exception. It was actually quite funny, he saw her at the hospital and was fine but when he saw her at home you could see the shock etched on his face like ” hold on shouldn’t she be at the hospital and not in my house!”
We did get some difficult behaviour in the sense of not listening, wanting to come into our bedroom at night because he knew she was in there with us, but 11 weeks later he’s finally settled in to his new role as big brother. He doesn’t want us to leave her anywhere, take her for injections because it’ll hurt her or best of all I catch him talking to her telling her how cute she is! Absolutely love it!
☆ Christmas and a New Year☆
Christmas and New Year 2017 has come and gone in the blink of an eye, we haven’t been able to do everything I’ve wanted like visit Hyde Park, I think it was wishful thinking to go with a three year old and a three month old but it’s been added to the list for next year, maybe when it first open before it gets too busy!
Even though we didn’t get to do everything I had hoped we had a lovely day out with friends to visit Santa, some lovely PJ days with the kids chilling out and watching Disney movies and baking, what more could you ask for!
One of my favourite days this year was waking up to a sheet of snow on a Sunday morning, baby K loved being outside throwing snowballs, although he did get cold after 20 minutes and decided it was time to come in and get cosy under a blanket with a toy catalogue!
☆ Slimming World☆
Even though it’s the festive season and I have DEFINITELY overindulged, I mean how could you not, I’ve managed to lose 1lb over the Christmas period, totalling a total of 12.5lbs, yay! Now is the time for the whole “New Year New me” situation so hopefully I’ll get my bum in gear and get to my target weight of 9st 4lbs by April, only 1 stone to go *sigh*
☆ Bring on 2018☆
2017 has been fun, we’ve had engagements, births and new business ventures and I can only hope 2018 will be just as exciting and fun with everyone in good health. We have two weddings this year, one being my younger brothers, a summer holiday booked and hopefully a few more positive changes for the year which I’ll announce when it happens! I always find there’s such a buzz over the winter months with Halloween, Fireworks and Christmas that January becomes everyone’s chill out and recover month, so I want to use this quiet month to try and get back into blogging and become a little more organised with my time. Bring on 2018!
