July has been a pretty hectic month with Mr H away in the military, me working and being mummy and daddy for two weeks and fun day trips out with my little man to keep him occupied while daddy is away has meant the month has just flown by.
As a reach the last leg of my pregnancy I’ve now officially started the countdown to my last day of work, the 25th of August in case you was wondering, and am willing myself to push through and make it even though I am more than ready to call it a day!
But till then here’s a list of all things I have enjoyed in July …
☆ I’m officially 32☆
Oh yeh another birthday another year older, I’m officially 32 years old and very pregnant! to be honest I wasn’t too bothered about my birthday this year as Mr H was away carrying out his military service in North Cyprus for two and half weeks so I was playing both mum and dad to baby K, not an easy task when you’re heavily pregnant and it’s scorching outside. My friends, who are all pregnant as well or have just had their little ones, insisted on doing something for my birthday so because I couldn’t be bothered to go out to a restaurant or anywhere for that matter, we decided they would come to mine in their joggers, grab a Chinese take away and chill, perfect!
☆ My new Sony A6000 Camera☆
When we went away for our last family holiday as a family of three (read about it here) I told Mr H I would love to buy a proper camera that I could use for blogging and family pictures. To be honest with the pregnancy and everything else that’s been going on this month I completely forgot I even mentioned this to him, but he didn’t! So even though he was away the day of my birthday he had told my brother what I wanted and my brother, parents and husband all chipped in and brought my a lovely Sony A6000 camera. It was a lovely surprise considering I wasn’t expecting it and I absolutely love it. I’m still learning how to use it and am scouring Youtube for tutorial videos but I’m so pleased with the photos I’ve taken so far and I can’t wait to be on maternity leave and take some lovely family photos of the kids.
☆ Designated Survivor☆
Doesn’t it annoy you when a programme you watch ends and there’s nothing else that takes your fancy? That’s how I felt when the first series of The Crown ended and no matter what I watched I just couldn’t find anything that kept my interest, until my friend recommended Designated Survivor – I’m hooked!
I have to say I have Sky, Amazon Prime and Netflix but it seems the latter has been the one to churn out some great shows which make my train journey a little more bareable. Starring Keifer Sutherland Designated Survivor is about a terrorist attack which takes place on the night of the State Union which is attended by the President and all members of congress, except for two individuals who are chosen to stay behind in a secret location as the designated survivors should anything happen to the President and the entire party, which it does, the series then follows Sutherland’s character Tom Kirkman who is sworn in as POTUS and all the obstacles he faces as an unelected President by his peers, his country and all the while trying to figure out how terrorists manages to blow up the State Union. I’m currently on episode 17 out of 21 …. I definitely need to find something to add to my watch list until season 2 comes out.
☆ Mr H returning from the army☆
As I have mentioned before Mr H was called in to do his military service in North Cyprus, unfortunately because he lived and went to school there when he was 12 years old it meant that completing a month’s worth of military service is compulsory. Luckily we have the option of splitting the month out two week rotations so even though being apart for 2.5 weeks was a pain I suppose it could’ve of been worse. The next round will be done next year August so we’ll all be joining Mr H out there as a family of four, I definitely wouldn’t be doing the whole thing apart again as I felt that baby K really noticed his absence and clearly missed him too much.
☆ My pregnancy pillow☆
As baby girl has got bigger and my belly is now stretched to the max getting a decent nights sleep is becoming a bit of a pain, so even though i didn’t have one with baby K I gave in and purchased a pregnancy pillow and what a difference it makes. It’s definitely one of my best pregnancy buys helping to support my belly whilst laying on my side, it also appears that two other members of my family have their eye on my sacred pillow aswell – baby K loves the ‘triangle pillow’ to sit on and watch PJ masks and I’m pretty sure Mr H would be using it at night if he wouldn’t feel the wrath of a hormonal pregnant woman for stealing the one thing that is helping me get a semi-comfortable nights sleep.
