I know I say the same thing at the beginning of each one of these posts but I can’t believe we’re at the end of September!
Now is when life gets a little bit busier on the run up to Halloween, Fireworks and Christmas (woohooo!)
I love this time of year where there is so much going on and the weather
supposedly gets a little bit chillier, OK a lot chillier, you get to wear layers, it starts getting a little darker earlier, yes I’m weird I like that it gets darker earlier, and before you know it it’s time to enjoy some festivities with your family and friends as Christmas approaches.
But before all of that it’s time to say goodbye to September and look over all the great things we got up to and be thankful for all the things we’ve done and the fun we’ve had, so here it is all the things I have liked and loved during September 2016.
☆ Streets lined with dropped leaves
I’ve always said that had I got married in the UK it would’ve been in Autumn. I love living in a country which has different seasons and sitting back watching the world change with the arrival of each one. I’m not a big fan of rain but spending the day outside when the sun is out but you have that fresh cold weather is great, when the leaves turn that burnt orange/gold colour and you walk down a street or park with fallen leaves paving the way, a perfect day out.
☆ Shopping for cosy knits and wooly hats
I know we haven’t really got into jumper weather yet, especially with Summer still holding on but I can’t resist buying a few cosy jumpers, hats and I may have even purchased a mustard colour scarf. I’ve also definitely gone overboard with buying things for baby K, but there’s so many cute things out there I just can’t resist, I think it’s safe to say baby K is well set for the cold months ahead – now all that’s needed is some cold weather!
☆ My dishwasher
I’ve been dying for a dishwasher for months and after continuous complaining we finally brought one from Currys, it’s now sitting snug in our kitchen and I have to say oh my god life just got a whole lot easier! I love, love, love it. It literally gives me more time in the evenings to spend with baby K and not rush around like a crazy woman trying to wash and dry the dishes and keep his bedtime routine nice and calm, now it’s a case of eat, whack it all in there and spend the rest of my evening with my boy, lovely!
☆ Getting organised for the winter months ahead
I’m in full blown planning mode when it comes to getting organised for the busy months ahead leading up to C-day. I’ve so far booked in a day out for Halloween, a visit to Santa on the day we’re going to be putting up our tree, tickets to a Christmas pantomime and am ready to make my Christmas cake – phew! I’ve also got started on list making for gift ideas as we have a lot of birthdays coming up and I don’t want to be trailing around the shops with a squirmy two year old. I have to say I’m pretty happy with myself and how organised I’ve been, hopefully I can keep this up and have a stress free winter.
☆ Spending time with friends
As a group of four friends who are all married with kids we have to be pretty organised to schedule time into get together, but on the run up to the end of the year we like to get a few extra days in where we get together with our other halves and the kids. I’m really looking forward to spending as much time as possible with my besties before the rush of Christmas gets in the way and everyone is busy busy busy. My night of hosting lands on November the 5th, yes that’s how organised we are that we’ve booked in for November, so I’m really looking forward to spending fireworks night with all the kids and seeing their little faces light up when they see the beautiful colours in the sky…. that or they’re going to poop themselves from the loud noises!
☆ Our anniversary dinner at Clos Maggiore
Our anniversary was in August but because I wanted to go to this particular restaurant Clos Maggiore in Convent Garden we celebrated on the 18th of September, the nearest date to our anniversary where I could get a reservation for 8pm. The restaurant dubbed as one of the most romantic restaurants in London was amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a lovely romantic meal out. The food was divine, the service was amazing and the restaurant itself definitely deserves the title of most romantic restaurant in London. Mr H and I have now decided we have to schedule in date nights at least once every three months, yes please!
☆ Enjoying a fun day out with baby K at our local park
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in trying to balance work with being a wife and a mummy that sometimes you just find yourself constantly busy. The other day I decided to slow things down and spend a day with my boy in the park. We headed down to our local park with some sandwiches and spent most of the day there. It was amazing, we ate our sandwiches by the lake, where we nearly got attacked by geese, did a quick supermarket dash while baby K ate his ice cream in his buggy and then went back to the park to collect some conkers and leaves. A great start to Autumn.
