July is nearly over and with it we’ve had some so so weather, is it safe to say that summer has finally made an appearance!
☆ It was my birthday, yes I’m a whole 31 years of age (hangs head in despair)
I had a birthday this month! Time has started to pass way too quick, I only turnt 30 like yesterday! My actual birthday was on a Thursday and involved a toddler throwing a tantrum, hitting his head and a dash to A&E at 6:45am. Luckily all was OK and it was a case of looking worse than it was. I ended up working from home and going to my mums for dinner and cake in the evening. Cake makes everything better!
On the weekend I celebrated with my friends with dinner at STK which was lovely. Good company, good food and amazing cocktails, here’s to another year!
☆ We’ve booked tickets to sunny North Cyprus
We wasn’t planning to go on holiday this year, but Mr H has had some business come up in Cyprus, which is where we’re from, and after finding cheap tickets we thought sod it lets do it. We’re hopefully going to try for baby no. 2 next year so a holiday may be out of the question in 2017 so why not fit one in this year. Only two more weeks left and we’ll be on a sandy beach running after baby K and sweating my ass off!
☆ We turned the corner on potty training, cue mummy dance
Baby K now tells us when he needs to go toilet, although everything is a poo, and as you can see when he gotta go he gotta go! Thank god for the Pottete Plus travel potty.
☆ My Orbit Baby Sidekick Skateboard and Basket
A month ago I purchased the Sidekick skateboard and basket that goes with my buggy, it wasn’t cheap but I had to have it we definitely needed it! Since purchasing them I haven’t really been able to try them out because of potty training but now that’s all under control, we’ve taken them for a test drive and baby K has given the sidekick skateboard his seal of approval.
☆ Reading stories before bedtime
After baby K’s second birthday we changed his cot in to a bed, we now snuggle up at bedtime and read two books a night. I love this time as it’s our time, I hope he never grows out of this.
☆ Getting Organised for Christmas
Yes you read it right, Christmas in July! I vowed that this year I wasn’t going to leave all my Christmas shopping till December. We always have so much going on from October onwards that money ends up being a bit tight, so I’ve started getting organised from now. So far I’ve brought our stockings, a Christmas book for baby K and a Yankee Candle advent calender for myself of course and all were on sale.
☆ Slimming World
I finally joined Slimming World after months of nagging from my mum and after my relectance to join I have to say it’s great. I’m only in my third week but I’ve already lost 4lbs and what a difference it makes, I have another two weeks before our holiday I’m hoping to loose another 4lbs. I definetely wish I did it sooner.
☆ The Great Weather
How amazing has the weather been! Baby K and I decided to have a picnic in the garden on the weekend after our swimming lesson, we also pulled out his garden toys and set up his slide which he loves. Hopefully it’ll stay like this through August.
☆ Race for Life Mud Run
That’s right FUCK YOU CANCER! I decided to take part in the Race for Life Mud Run this year and it was so much fun. The atmosphere, the fact that it’s for a great cause that affects so many and all the great obstacles and mud made this a great day. I think we can make this a yearly thing.
☆ NYX Makeup
NYX is finally available in Boots and after seeing so many good reviews I decided to try it out. I’ve so far purchased the Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer, Cream Highlight & Contour Palette, Baked Blush in no. 11 and the Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in green and I have to say so far I’m impressed.
So there’s all the things I have liked and loved in July.
